2021 Chevrolet Blazer Exterior

What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer?

Chevrolet Blazer enters its third straight year of production with the 2021 iteration. Chevrolet has made more safety features standard in this midsize crossover's higher-level trims.

What Features Are Available for 2021?

The Chevrolet Blazer's main strength is in its wide range of trim levels. For 2021, you can choose from the L, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier models. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system integrates components such as a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration with its 8-inch touchscreen as standard. There are four USB ports for hooking up mobile devices, and the driver and front-seat passenger have automatic climate controls.

Although the 1LT gains a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio and eight-way power on the driver's seat, spring for the 3LT if you need substantive comfort and convenience updates. At this level, you gain features such as leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power adjustability extended to the front passenger seat (six-way), front-seat heating, remote start, and a power liftgate. A navigation system, an 8-inch driver information display (instead of a 4.2-inch one), an upgrade to hands-free operation on the liftgate, and steering-wheel heating appear on the RS. The Premier is the only model with rear-seat heating, front-seat cooling, an eight-speaker Bose stereo system, a cargo management system, and a power-adjustable steering wheel.

2021 Blazer Powertrain Options

There are three engine options: a 193-horsepower 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder (I4), a 230-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo I4, and a 308-horsepower 3.6-liter V6. The 2.5-liter I4 is equipped on the lower-level L and 1LT, the 2.0-liter turbo I4 powers the mid-level 2LT and 3LT range, and the 3.6-liter V6 goes under the hoods of the performance-oriented RS and top-level Premier.

A 9-speed automatic transmission is attached to each engine for smooth shifts. Going with the 2LT or higher is recommended for better-than-average acceleration ability and the option of all-wheel drive for optimizing traction on slippery roads.

Packed With Safety Features

Chevrolet presents seven airbags, a high-definition rearview camera, and Teen Driver mode among the Blazer's standard safety features. However, if you need driver-assistance technology, spring for the 2LT, which debuts the Chevy Safety Assist of technologies that consist of pre-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam technology. Added at the 3LT level are blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change alert, and rear parking sensors to accompany the rearview camera.
