The 2020 Suburban does not get monumental changes. But then again, none are necessary to prove its worth. There are some modifications to the iconic Suburban's list of feature availability. This includes a newly available performance package that includes a 6.2L engine with eight cylinders. The full-size SUV, which ranks #4 in its class, has three versatile rows of seats.
It seats anywhere from seven to nine passengers depending on the trim level and your preference. The latest Suburban, as with model years past, features a long list of standard and available amenities. It has a generous cargo capacity in addition to a large passenger area, which means it can bring everyone and all your belongings along for the ride.
The 2020 Chevy Suburban is available in a variety of trim levels. The base trim is called the LS. Eighteen-inch wheels and a 17-inch spare tire are standard in this trim. Larger 20-inch and 22-inch wheels are available. Aero shutters, black assist steps, and black roof-mounted side rails are other available amenities that enhance its appearance. This trim comes standard with a 110V power outlet, 12V power outlets in the console, cargo area and instrument panel, and a 4.2-inch driver information center.
This trim also comes with a 4G WiFi hotspot. Six airbags are standard unless you choose bucket seats, which increases the number of airbags to seven. An eight-inch infotainment screen with Bluetooth is standard. The next trim in the lineup, called the LT, adds more standard amenities. It upgrades to a nine-speaker Bose sound system for optimal sound quality. Cargo management is standard, as well. This trim level has more standard safety features and more conveniences, including an auto-dimming rearview mirror and interior lighting. Keyless start and entry are available on this trim and standard on the Premier. The Premier adds even more standard and optional amenities.
This includes magnetic ride control, a color eight-inch infotainment system with navigation, and optional perforated leather seats with a dual-color finish. An enhanced driver safety package and additional safety features are standard. Heated and ventilated front-row seats and heated second-row outboard seats are standard in this trim, too. It also comes with an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Illuminated sill plates for the front doors and an inclination sensor are additional available amenities.
The base engine on all three trims is a 5.3L with eight cylinders. This engine produces 355 HP at 5,600 RPM and 383 LB-FT of torque at 4,100 RPM. Advanced technologies, including direct injection and variable valve timing, make the engine fuel-efficient without sacrificing performance. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The second engine is a 6.2L with eight cylinders. This engine increases the Suburban's power output to 420 HP at 5,600 RPM and 460 LB-FT at 4,100 RPM.
A variety of passive and active safety features in the 2020 Suburban has your needs covered. Across the board, you'll get anti-lock brakes, airbags, daytime running lights, and a front passenger sensor. Front and rear parking assist, lane change alert, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist are some driver safety aids available by trim.
