A 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X recently made headlines at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction by selling for $2.6 million to benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This organization is dedicated to providing mortgage-free housing to the families of fallen first responders and Gold Star heroes who have sacrificed for their country.

The leadership at Global Chevrolet highlighted that this 1-of-1 ZR1X was created as a tribute to those who serve in the armed forces and as first responders. As the fastest production vehicle in America, the ZR1X offers more than just elite performance; it represents Chevrolet's dedication to veterans and their families through its partnership with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The winning bid came from Rick Hendrick, the chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group. The vehicle features a custom Stars & Steel-inspired aesthetic, which was hand-painted at the General Motors Design Fabrication shop. This one-of-a-kind model features blue accents and blue brake calipers, along with its powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Frank Siller of Tunnel to Towers noted that the foundation's mission is strengthened by General Motors' and Chevrolet's continued support. He emphasized that these gifts enable the organization to honor the fallen by caring for the families they left behind.

In total, Chevrolet has raised $15.5 million for charity through Barrett-Jackson over the last 15 years. Craig Jackson, CEO of Barrett-Jackson, expressed his excitement over the auction, noting that the buyer has acquired a landmark vehicle in automotive history.
