New Corvette Concepts To Inspire the Future of Corvette Design

Although neither of these remarkable Corvette concept cars will enter production, they deliver an exciting preview of Chevrolet's design and performance direction. The Corvette CX and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo demonstrate the creativity of Chevy's global design team and put the brand's performance pedigree on full display.

Corvette CX Concept

Styled to be a street-legal supercar, the Corvette CX has an assertive, attention-grabbing appearance. Its ultra-wide stance and sculpted bodylines are striking. The most memorable feature is the fighter-jet-like canopy that opens automatically as you come close.

Power comes from an AWD electric system with four motors. Chevy rates output at a breathtaking 2,000 horsepower for explosive acceleration. The lithium-ion battery is mounted low for improved weight balance, and four-wheel torque vectoring enhances handling. The Corvette CX also uses an innovative Vacuum Fan System to channel air through the open bodywork and create added downforce.

Inside, the Corvette CX greets drivers with a cockpit designed around them. Luxurious materials like forged carbon fiber are used throughout. A digital windscreen provides live performance metrics, and many controls are embedded in the sporty steering wheel to keep distractions minimal.

Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a bona fide track car that appears in Gran Turismo 7. This mid-engine racer is propelled by a twin-turbo V8 making 900 horsepower and revs to an astonishing 15,000 rpm. Three electric motors augment the engine for a combined output of 2,000 horsepower, and renewable e-fuel keeps the performance sustainable.

Because it's meant only for the track, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo features a pared-down interior to reduce weight. Heavily bolstered seats secure occupants during high-speed maneuvers.
