A new Corvette EV is officially slated to come out sometime after 2023. Some estimates put this as deep as 2025. Not everything is known yet, but the luxury brand is saying that a hybrid vehicle will come out probably around 2023, with a full EV slated to come out after that. The rumor is that the EV will be called the E-Ray and use the Ultium battery platform.
Corvette Expectations
Currently, the rumor is that the hybrid Corvette could have as much as 1000 horsepower and will mix the electric battery output with the traditional high-performance power of combustion engines. Videos of a Corvette vehicle have come out recently. No one is quite certain what this is, but we have plenty of speculation. For example, some are saying that the video is of the hybrid model because you can hear the roar of a combustion engine like the V8 that's rumored.
There's also a lot of speculation that the Corvette EV will have high specs since it has a lot to compete with the inside of the Corvette. For example, the combustion engine Z06 has a 670 horsepower engine. That's why some have found the 1000 horsepower rumor convincing.
It's rumored that the hybrid Corvette will have 1000 horsepower from a twin-turbo engine. They would combine this with an electric engine for the front wheels. That's how they could end up having that much power. The video shows a vehicle with all-wheel drive, so it's possible that you're going to get that with the new Corvette hybrid vehicle. Some say that the EV will likely have AWD as well.
