According to Chevrolet, in 2015, there were more than 50 million Chevrolet owners who used the OnStar RemoteLink app and the automaker determined that safety could be improved, by integrating the OnStar Remote Link with the myChevrolet app.
The OnStar Remote Link safety features allow you to accomplish the following:
- Use your smartphone to unlock and lock the doors.
- Activate the horn and headlights from a distance.
- Start your Chevrolet from any distance, including from inside your home.
- Instantly connect to roadside assistance.
- Assess diagnostics, such as fuel range, tire pressure and oil life expectancy.
All of these features for the OnStar Remote Link are specifically designed to give you more confidence when it comes to safety. The features greatly eliminate the safety concerns that naturally come with the fantastic benefits of the overall Chevrolet driving experience.
Vehicle Locate
The myChevrolet app was recently enhanced to include the newest feature - Vehicle Locate. The purpose of the feature is to provide owners with a convenient way to know where their vehicle is located at all times. Vehicle Locate sends an automatic text alert to the registered user of the app whenever there is a change in the established vehicle location boundaries, which are personalized in the app settings.
Additionally, the feature provides the user with real-time information when the vehicle arrives or departs from a pre-set radius, up to 20 miles or even a specific address. If you're a parent of a teen driver, then this particular feature is enormously helpful. The feature takes the worry out of the unknown and uncertainty for parents. However, it is also highly effective for adults too. For instance, if you're on-the-go a lot, the feature can be used to alert family and friends of your whereabouts. Your location can even be forwarded to up to 10 people. Are you typically asked to call or text someone when you get home after a late night out on the town? No worries! Vehicle Locate can do the work for you, by sending a location status, while you prepare for a good night's sleep!
NOTE: Vehicle Locate is available on 2012 Chevrolet models and newer, and it's an extension of the Remote Access Plan.
