Specs at a Glance
According to the U.S. News & World Report, the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban is the Best Large SUV for Families in the United States of America. The LS base model offers incredible value in performance, amenities, and technology. You'll get even better features in the well-appointed High Country trim.
Performance
Earning a 355-horsepower rating, a V-8 engine block with a 5.3-liter displacement is standard under the hood of the 2021 Chevy Suburban base model. Burning gasoline, this eight-cylinder powertrain pumps out nearly 385 pound-feet. Installed by default on the High Country edition, the 6.2-L engine is rated at 420 total hp. Tuned for heavy-duty performance, this V-8 powerplant unleashes a maximum of 460 lb-ft. Both vehicles are strong enough to pull a trailer that contains more than 8,000 total pounds.
The Max Trailering Package adds a two-speed transfer case to each model. You can also select the Tow-Haul Mode from the 10-speed automatic transmission with an electronically controlled design with an overdrive functionality. Torque flows to the rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive smoothly and predictably. If you want to enjoy a more pleasant drive in the High Country model, buy the optional Adaptive Air Ride Suspension System that varies the ground clearance based on several parameters.
Appearance
Featuring textured pads, black assist steps are installed on the 2021 Chevy Suburban LS. You may add roof-mounted side rails to this entry-level trim. The High Country has front and rear splash guards for enhanced protection against mud, grime, and debris. This lavish model also offers a dual-panel panoramic sunroof that retracts into the roof.
Features
Optional in the 2021 Suburban LS and standard in the High Country, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system includes a control panel that measures 10.2 inches diagonally. Wireless smartphone connections may be made through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You can easily ask Amazon Alexa for guidance and assistance during a trip. The signature multimedia console provides access to a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that's officially part of the OnStar suite. The High Country boasts a handful of other cutting-edge technologies, like a head-up display that covers up to 15.0 inches on the windshield. Additionally, this high-level edition offers the Rear Camera Mirror with adjustable settings for brightness, tilt, and zoom.
