Chevy did not make any major changes to the 2018 offering of the Spark. The vehicle still features the sleek, modern styling, comfort, and technology of the 2017 version.
Trims to Choose From
The Spark has four trim levels, each with automatic and manual transmission versions. The LS is the base model while the 1LT and 2LT are the steps up. The ACTIV trim model is the fully loaded top trim level. The LS, 1LT, and 2LT share similar features such as the OnStar Guidance Plan limited trail service and 4G LTE with built-in WiFi hotspot. The 1LT and 2LT feature SiriusXM satellite radio capability and have electronic cruise control. The 2LT has a three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with silver accents. The 2LT also has exclusive exterior features like chrome beltline moldings and liftgate trim.
The ACTIV trim level is a combination of the LS and LT trim levels, having everything they can be outfitted with as standard equipment with the exception of the chrome liftgate trim and belt moldings. While a power sunroof is available for the 1LT and 2LT levels, it is not available for the ACTIV due to the exclusive feature of a luggage roof rack to the ACTIV. The ACTIV level also has several exclusive exterior touches such as 15-inch alloy wheels, unique front and rear bumpers, and rocker panel and fender trim. On the inside, the ACTIV has black leatherette heated seats and a leather wrapped steering wheel. Performance wise, the ACTIV also features a unique suspension package for a sportier ride.
All trim levels have a rear vision camera, a 7-inch Chevy MyLink color touchscreen, and available smartphone integration. Each trim level comfortably seats four passengers and offers 27.2 cu. ft. in cargo space when the two back seats are folded down.
Engine, Transmission & MPG Specs
All of the Spark trim levels, regardless of automatic or manual transmission, are equipped with the same 1.4L, Ecotec DOHC, 4-cylinder engine. The engine produces 98hp and 94 lb.-ft of torque. The Spark's small engine allows it to get a combined 33 mpg, with 37 mpg highway and 30 mpg city.
All four trim levels of the Spark have a full suite of front, knee, side-impact, and head curtain side-impact airbags standard. All four also have Hill Assist, the LATCH system, and the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system standard as well. The OnStar Guidance Plan limited trail service is also offered standard. Only the LS trim level does not have power door locks or the automatic emergency unlock.
Other safety features that are available but not standard include Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert, and a Lane Departure Warning system.
