Suburban and Tahoe Become Instant Rally Stars With Sporty New Trim Level

2018 Chevy Tahoe RST

Rugged capability meets rally-inspired style in Chevy’s all-new Rally Sport Truck (RST) trim, available exclusively on 2018 Suburban and Tahoe models. Adding a variety of exterior treatments and optional performance upgrades, these models are guaranteed to be as street-smart as they are track-capable.

“The RST is designed for customers who want a street performance look without sacrificing capability or refinement, along with the option of increased performance as well,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Truck Marketing director.

All RST models show off with body-color grille surround and door handles, which contrast nicely with the blacked-out badging, bowties, grille, mirror caps, window trim and roof rails. Available body colors include white, black, silver and tungsten. Unique 22-inch wheels are also standard, accompanied by Bridgestone P285/45R 22 tires.

On top of that, buyers can opt for a variety of performance upgrades to really turn their SUV into a thrill-seeking street performer, including six-piston Brembo calipers with larger Duralife rotors and a horsepower-boosting Borla performance exhaust system.

Those eyeing the Tahoe RST also have the option of a model-exclusive Performance Package, which swaps the SUV’s standard powerplant for a high-powered, 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. A 10-speed automatic directs 460 pound-feet of torque to the wheels, ensuring that the vehicle maintains its impressive 8,400-lb. towing capacity while also making the trip from 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds. The Performance Package also adds Magnetic Ride Control for increased body control and comfort.

“When you want to hustle, it is incredibly fast, with significantly higher levels of acceleration, braking and road-holding grip,” said Eric Stanczak, chief engineer for Chevrolet full-size trucks, says about the Tahoe RST. “When you want to relax, it is very refined, with exceptional ride comfort and interior quietness.”

Both the 2018 Tahoe RST and the 2018 Suburban RST will be available at Reliable Chevrolet later this fall, so be sure to stay tuned for additional information on specs and performance metrics!
