Camaro Horsepower & Performance Information
The Camaro is available with a variety of engines, transmissions and performance accessories, starting with a zippy 2.0L turbo-four. This option is standard on the LT models, and offers quite a bit of spunk at 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Optional on the LT models is an upgraded 3.6L V6, which increases output to 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque.
Moving up the lineup, the SS models pack a 6.2-liter V8, which pushes out 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. More advanced performance equipment like automatic rev-match downshift, a mechanical limited-slip differential, Brembo brakes, a FE3 sport-tuned suspension and a short-throw shifter are also standard on these models.
For those looking for premium track capability, 2018 Camaro reviews recommend either the ZL1 or the ZL1 1LE. Both models show off a supercharged 6.2L V8, a.k.a. the fastest Camaro engine ever made. Pumping out a whopping 640 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque is not the only impressive thing this sports car can do though! Designed with aerodynamic materials and equipped with a variety of performance technologies--including standard magnetic ride control, a FE4 suspension, heavy duty cooling and Brembo brakes--the ZL1 models are the most track-capable in the lineup. However, for the highest capabilities, 2018 Camaro reviews say buyers will want to look to the new ZL1 1LE, which adds a Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve and other racing-derived structures.
